What is Trainline AI Travel Assistant?
Trainline's AI Travel Assistant is a conversational feature inside the Trainline app. You type questions in your own words about ticket conditions or your journey and get real-time travel information personalised to that trip, and it can complete actions such as refund requests without a human agent. It launched for UK users on iOS in June 2025; Trainline's May 2026 results list it with Travel Forecast delay predictions and Delay Repay alerts as AI features for rail disruption.
Cost: No separate charge (Comes with the device or service). Booking: No booking. Works on: iPhone, Inside Trainline.
Best for: UK rail travellers who book with Trainline and want quick answers or a refund during disruption without waiting for an agent.
How Trainline AI Travel Assistant uses AI
Answers plain-language questions using live train information and the details of your journey, and can process refund requests itself; queries it cannot resolve are passed to Trainline's customer service team.
