What is Expedia app in ChatGPT?
Expedia's app inside ChatGPT launched on 6 October 2025, when OpenAI opened ChatGPT to third-party apps. You ask for hotels or flights in plain language (for example a hotel in New York under $400 in November) and see matching options with live pricing and maps in the chat. Choosing 'Book on Expedia' takes you to Expedia to finish the booking. Expedia says the app is available to logged-in ChatGPT users outside the EU on the Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans.
Cost: Free (No paid plan listed). Booking: Sends you to book elsewhere. Works on: Inside ChatGPT.
Best for: ChatGPT users who want to shortlist Expedia hotels and flights by chatting, then check out on Expedia.
How Expedia app in ChatGPT uses AI
ChatGPT reads your request and calls Expedia's app to fetch matching hotels and flights with real-time prices, then shows them inside the conversation.
Booking: Sends you to book elsewhere.
Keep in mind
- Not available in the EU
- You need to be logged in to ChatGPT
- Booking is completed on Expedia, not inside ChatGPT
