What is Golf Trip Builder?
Golf Trip Builder is a free website, run by Stephen Pickering, for planning golf trips to Scotland, England, Ireland and Northern Ireland, aimed mainly at golfers from the US. You tell its trip assistant your dates, group size, handicaps and the courses you want to play, and it returns a day-by-day plan with drive times, visitor days, handicap limits and a cost estimate in US dollars. Its 87 course pages list visitor rules, handicap limits, how to book and green fees, each dated and checked against the club's own information.
Cost: Free (No paid plan listed). Booking: Sends you to book elsewhere. Works on: Web.
Best for: Golfers from the US planning a links trip to Scotland or Ireland who want visitor days, handicap limits and a rough budget sorted before asking for a quote.
How Golf Trip Builder uses AI
The trip assistant is a chat powered by OpenAI's GPT-5.6, according to the planner page and privacy policy: it turns your dates, group, handicaps and course wishes into a day-by-day plan with an estimate, drawing on the site's checked course facts. The privacy policy says what you type is sent to OpenAI, is not used to train its models, and is not stored by the site after you close the page.
Booking: Sends you to book elsewhere.
Keep in mind
- It doesn't book anything: to book, you send the plan to Scotland Golf Tours for a quote, or follow tee-time, package and hotel links to partner sites, and the site may earn a fee on those
- Prices are estimates in US dollars converted from pounds and euros; the terms ask you to confirm visitor rules and fees with the club or booking partner before you pay
- Coverage is limited to the 87 courses on the site in Scotland, England, Ireland and Northern Ireland
- Asking for a quote shares your name, email, phone number and trip details with Scotland Golf Tours
Is Golf Trip Builder free? Cost and plans
Free. Free, with no account. The site earns referral fees and commissions from booking partners, which it says don't change your price.

What we could not confirm
- The terms and privacy policy mention a planner inside ChatGPT, but no link to it was found on the site on 2 November 2026, so only the web planner is listed
- The site's pages say only that Stephen Pickering runs it; no company name or address is published
- A full plan was not generated during review, so the accuracy of its drive times and estimates was not checked
- Scotland Golf Tours' own terms and fees were not reviewed
