What is Layla?
Layla is a Berlin-based AI trip planner: you describe a trip in chat and it builds an itinerary around your dates, budget and style. Its website now pairs the AI with human travel advisors who review the plan and book the hotels, flights, transfers and activities in it, or you can book yourself. Roam Around's itinerary generator was folded into Layla in 2024, and Expedia Group acquired Layla in 2026.
Cost: Free (No paid plan listed). Booking: You book in the same app. Works on: Web, iPhone, Android.
Best for: Travellers who want an AI-drafted itinerary but would like a human advisor to check it and handle the bookings.
How Layla uses AI
The AI chats with you to suggest destinations and drafts a day-by-day itinerary with hotels and experiences, which you can change before booking.
Booking: You book in the same app.
Keep in mind
- Advisor-booked trips start with a conversation with a travel advisor; the homepage shows advisors finalising a trip in about 48 hours
- Layla recommends a minimum budget of €100 per person per night for its tailor-made trips
- The package price guarantee covers only the total package price against an offer with exactly the same services and conditions
Is Layla free? Cost and plans
Free. layla.ai says planning is free with no subscription or planning fee; if you book through Layla you pay for the travel arrangements in the booking. Layla's terms say Layla Premium has not been offered to new subscribers since August 2026, although the US App Store listing still shows Premium in-app purchases ($9.99 a month, $49.99 a year).
