What is Google AI Mode travel booking?

On 27 August 2026 Google began rolling out hotel booking in AI Mode in Google Search, in the US and in English. You describe your trip, compare a visual list of hotels with reviews, choose 'Continue on Google', pick a room and pay with Google Pay; the hotel or booking partner (launch partners include Booking.com, Choice, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com and Wyndham) is the merchant of record. The same update added flight price tracking and points-and-miles rates to AI Mode; flights still have to be bought on the airline or booking site. AI Mode has also offered agentic restaurant booking in the US since November 2025.

Cost: Free (No paid plan listed). Booking: You book in the same app. Works on: Inside Google Search (AI Mode).

Best for: US travellers who already plan in Google Search and want to book a hotel without leaving the conversation.

How Google AI Mode travel booking uses AI

Interprets your trip and preferences, compares hotels with reviews and key factors, and completes the reservation with the partner without leaving the conversation.

Booking: You book in the same app.

Keep in mind

  • US only, in English, for select properties; needs a Google Account, age 18+, and a Google Pay method with a US billing address
  • No partner promo codes, points redemption, loyalty numbers or child occupancy
  • One booking per AI Mode thread; changes, cancellations and refunds go to the booking partner
  • Flights cannot be booked in AI Mode; you buy on the airline's or a booking site
  • You still choose the room and confirm payment yourself

Is Google AI Mode travel booking free? Cost and plans

Free. Google does not mention a booking fee; you pay the partner's price through Google Pay.
